Sparkly & sprinkly and charming as can be!

The world of Sweetapolita speaks so true to my heart: sparkly and sprinkly and charming as can be!

Rosie Alyea’s designs are so fresh and fun!  So, naturally, when we were asked to help promote her new Sweetapolita Bakebook with a styled shoot, we were absolutely in!  This Bakebook truly changed the way I viewed decorating desserts that are perfect for a pretty party this Spring!

GRAFFITI CAKE

When I received my copy of Rosie’s bakebook I was completely captured by the cover!  I fell in love with the pink and girly cake that she featured with hand drawn ice cream cones and bows.  I knew that designing my own version of her Graffiti Cake was a must!  I decided to incorporate some of the things that I love most: unicorns, lips, and lots of pink!  The pink ruffle along the baste of the cake added that extra sweet touch!  This was so much fun to design!

HOMEMADE SPRINKLES

As a little girl, I was famous for ordering my frozen yogurt with sprinkles on the top, middle, and bottom!  My love for sprinkles has stayed true as I have gotten older.  When I saw the Homemade Sprinkles recipe in the new Sweetapolita Bakebook, I was so excited!  I knew we definitely needed to create sprinkles in two shades of pink, of course!  In addition, I decided to incorporate the two beautiful shades of blue that are represented on the cover of Rosie’s new Bakebook.  These pastel colors are so perfect for Spring!

BIRTHDAY CAKE MILKSHAKES

Once the decision was made to move forward with the homemade sprinkles, I fell in love with the idea of adding them to the rims of these Birthday Cake Milkshakes!  How cute are the pink striped paper straws?!    And the vintage glass milk jars?!  Perfect for a pretty in pink Spring party!

SPRINKLE-DIPPED MERINGUES

Staying true to my love for sprinkles, it only made sense to create these Sprinkle-Dipped Meringues!  We had so much fun with these that we ended up with a few different Spring options!  I am so in love with the baby pink and white meringues!  Not only were these fun to make, they were fun to eat too!

COTTON CANDY CUPCAKES

This cupcake is everything to me and is my absolute favorite recipe in the entire Bakebook!  Pink cotton candy AND pink icing?!  Yes, please!  Not only is it visually appealing but it is equally delicious!  I wanted to incorporate a fun twist on Rosie’s version of the cupcake and include pink lips and unicorns!  We even made our own pink cotton candy from the sweetest pink cotton candy machine ever!

WATERCOLOR GRAFFITI COOKIES

Sugar cookies are my absolute favorite!  I love Rosie’s recipe for these gorgeous Watercolor Graffiti Cookies!  We decided to incorporate some fun Spring colors of pink and orange with rose gold flakes!  You can never go wrong with rose gold!  How sweet is the pink ribbon?  Perfect for dressing up your dessert table!

PASTEL VANILLA BIRTHDAY CAKE

When I saw this cake in Rosie’s Bakebook it was love at first sight!  Pastel Vanilla Birthday Cake with sprinkles on the cake?!  The presentation of this cake is absolutely stunning.  We decided to stay with our Spring theme and went with a gorgeous pastel yellow.  The best part?  The inside of the cake!  So fun and colorful!

CAKE POPS

I was so inspired by this Bakebook that we decided to create our own version of Rosie’s Cake Pops!  We took elements from her creations and designed some fun Spring Cake Pops with fluffy pink cotton candy, rose gold flakes, and gold sprinkles!  They were such a hit!
