Wear Your Hair like a Crown

Oh, the things I do to maintain my blonde locks! I swear, I give my hair more self-care than I give myself! Totally kidding, Dolls! I haven't made a blonde haircare post in a while, so thought I'd share the ins and outs of having hair extensions. This one is for all of my hair fanatics out there. We have to stick together because hair maintenance is no joke! Whether you have to maintain your haircut, hair color, or hair extensions, it can all be time consuming!

I've been an avid hair extensions user for ten years. Thats right, ten whole years. I truly love my long hair — I don't know who I'd be without my long locks! I have been wearing the Harper Ellis Concealed Bead Method with their extensions for a little over a year now and I can't get enough! Before switching over to Harper Ellis, I used the Bellami hair clip-in extensions, but I noticed they wore down more quickly over time, especially for blonde hair. I found myself buying new hair every three months. No one wants that! Once I started using Harper Ellis Hair, there was no going back!

Harper Ellis is an absolute game-changer. The quality of the hair is divine and the maintenance is much easier now. Here is a rundown of how I maintain my blonde hair:

  1. Go to the salon once a week for a wash and blowout

I go to a salon called Bombshell, and it’s literally THE BOMB. When you see this place, you will be in awe of their aesthetic! I go to my amazing hairstylist, Lauren Gray, every week. She is the mastermind behind my blonde hair, and she puts every ounce of love she has when styling her clients!

2. Dry shampoo is my best friend

Dolls, you didn’t actually think I just let my hair get crazy, did you!? Never, Dolls! I’m totally obsessed with Design Me dry shampoo! This specific dry shampoo is made from a unique rice and starch formula so you can still lift and style your hair. Read more about this brand here!

3. Barbie hairbrush

I adore my Kristen hairbrush. My client, BFF, and hair extensions expert, Terra, says not to use this, but I do it anyway because it's pretty! Of course, Harper Ellis has a proper brush that you can find here!

4. Dry conditioner during winter months

Because I only wash my hair once a week, I use Living Proof dry conditioner! This dry conditioner tames up to 95% of frizzy hair by giving you that softness and shine!

5. Bedtime side braid

For my night routine, I like to put my hair into a side braid to keep everything in place! This ensures that my hair extensions will stay in place through the night.

So that’s it, Dolls! That’s how I maintain the Barbie blonde I’ve always wanted! Remember, always consult with your hairstylist to see what they recommend because everyone’s hair is different, but I believe you can have the hair of your dreams!
