Bringing Back All The Frill!

The Roaring 20s are back and I couldn’t be more *frilled* about it!  When I think about the 1920’s, I think of Art Deco-style, prohibition, and women who took fashion risks.  The flapper-style is something that sticks out to me because they did not shy away from embellishment.  You know I love a girl who’s not afraid to stand out!  These young women had an energetic freedom to their style and I have to say, I AM HERE FOR IT!

Looking back on the iconic looks, I couldn’t help but feel inspired myself.  The fringe, fur, and feathers spoke to me and sent me right to my closet to recreate these looks for the modern Doll!  The 1920s may have been 100 years ago, but that doesn’t mean that we should overlook their style sense!

How to take the Roaring 20s with you into 2020

Fur

It is no secret that I have a deep love for faux fur. My collection continues to grow and I don’t see a stop in the near future! Why quit a good thing, right Dolls?! This faux fur bolero jacket is the perfect finishing touch to this dress! I felt like an updated flapper with the perfect fashion-forward finishing touch of fur!

Feathers

At first glance, this jacket may look like faux fur, but SURPRISE — it is actually covered in feathers! I love how feathers can instantly elevate any look. They are airy and light which are two things I adore! Who can resist a fun detail with some definite WOW factor?!

Fringe

A fun fringe or tassel detail is something I’ve been seeing a lot more of in fashion. This is a fun and flirty way to bring the flapper style back to life in your modern day wardrobe. I love the pom pom fringe detail on the back of this dress. It’s the perfect touch of sass and makes me feel like twirling! My new requirement when shopping will be finding an outfit that makes me want to dance like this one does!

I had so much fun updating the 1920s style trends to match my 2020 closet!  Now I want to hear which trend you are most excited to try yourself, Dolls!
