How to Always Slay the Camera Like a Boss Doll

First and foremost — Happy Monday, Dolls! You made it to a new week and for that, you deserve all pretty things! Speaking of pretty things… I wanted to talk about behind the scenes and strategy that my team puts together for The Caroline Doll monthly photoshoots! As some of you know, my favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day! So, for February (you guessed it!) we shot a Valentine’s Day photoshoot campaign! From mood boards, to concepting, to the glam and glitz — photoshoots can be a ton of work and! To say the least — it takes a whole team! But I couldn’t be more proud of my Dolls who put a lot of hard work into something truly beautiful!

To break it down — I collaborate with my Creative Content Doll, Em! She pulls inspiration from Pinterest, utilizes what we have here at The Doll HQ, and even sketches some ideas that will fit The Caroline Doll brand! And what's the most amazing part? — seeing those concepts go from sketches to real life action!

The mood boards are the fun part! What gets tricky is shooting at the right angles, and having your audience see the story from a different perspective. What's unique is that every person will view your art differently. BUT that's where you get to shine and show your creativity Dolls! You're able to showcase your brand in any way you desire! So... have fun with it, let loose, and don't be afraid to let your hair down! Throughout the years of modeling for POSH PR® and The Caroline Doll — I picked up a few tips and tricks!

Let’s Play with Shapes

Make triangle shapes with your body — this creates an allusion of space and depth

Stand a Bit Taller

Elongate that body! — Prop one leg in front of the other. This gives an allusion that you're taller, which also shows your beautiful confidence!

Don’t Know What to do With Your Hands?

Use any props to occupy your hands! This could be a drink, a handbag, a jacket, a phone, or even a book! This little guy will save you from feeling awkward with your arms/hands!

Act Natural

No, literally Dolls! Try to act as if you're walking down the street, looking away, or smiling at someone. This will allow you to look at ease, and not so "try-hard!"

Strike a Pose

Again Dolls, have FUN with it! This is the most important part when shooting a photoshoot — when shooting content, you learn more about yourself, it teaches you what you like/dislike, and you’ll feel more confident in your own skin!

These are just some of the things I picked up along the way of modeling for my own brand! The whole process of putting together a photoshoot campaign can teach you a lot of things. What I love the most about it is — seeing something go from completely nothing, to something absolutely magical! And this is why I love doing what I do. Oh, and I get to take you along with me!

Sending you so much love, Dolls!
